The primary season ends today and Barack Obama looks ready to declare himself victorious in the Democratic presidential nomination between himself and Hillary Clinton, according to an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The final two primaries, in South Dakota and Montana, are currently going on today. Once the votes for these two states are in today, most of the more than 150 super-delegates who are undeclared are expected to choose sides and push Obama over the required number of 2,118.
Obama expects that he will be wrapping up the nomination sometime between today and Wednesday, and has talked with Clinton by phone and requested a meeting to discuss things once “the dust settles.”
The way that the next couple weeks play out can have a major impact on uniting the Democratic Party in advance of the Nov. 4 presidential election.
As of June 2, Obama was within 42 delegates of goal, while Clinton is 201 short. There are 31 delegates at stake in the last two elections today. Obama is expected to win the two primaries today.

The DreamWorks feature film, “Transformers 2,” is starting filming and one of the filming locations will be on the campus of University of Pennsylvania, according to an article in The Daily Pennsylvanian.
The movie will be directed by Michael Bay and will feature Shia LeBeouf. LaBeouf plays Sam Witwicky, who is caught in the middle of a warring race of transforming robots from space.
Filming will begin around June 12 with scenes that will use the exterior of the quad, according to a university spokesperson. The project is expected to use 200 people, 25 tractor-trailer trucks, and cranes. There will also be scenes shot at the Psi Upsilon Tau fraternity house, and shots on Locust Walk and Spruce Street.
Bay was the Undergraduate Vice-President of Wesleyan University’s Psi Upsilon chapter during his time in college.
Specific plot elements have not been able to be released by the university because of non-disclosure agreements signed with DreamWorks Pictures.
Penn’s Office of University Communications was unable to divulge specific plot elements as the result of a non-disclosure agreement signed with DreamWorks Pictures. Casting calls for extras are currently ongoing.
