A KYW1060 article is reporting that AT&T recently finished underground antennas on the Market-Frankford subway-elevated line at the underground portions, allowing all of its cell phone users to make and receive calls while waiting at a platform or while on the train.
SEPTA’s Felipe Suarez: “AT&T recently completed a project to install antennas underground, so AT&T users now can communicate with their cell phones underground if they’re using the Market-Frankford line or any of the subway routes.”
AT&T is currently installing antennas on the Broad Street subway line. There are also negotiations ongoing with other cellular telephone carriers to place their antennas underground.
